Ed Goldman is the author of:
- more than 6,000 newspaper and magazine pieces;
- five books;
- the play Jews Don’t Kayak, which was workshopped in a world premiere at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, in June 2017;
- the book, music and lyrics of the musical-comedy Friday@5, which had its world premiere at the Sacramento Theatre Company, an Equity playhouse
Ed writes the thrice-weekly online column The Goldman State, which has readers in 10 states. He was a daily columnist, from 2011-2019, for the Sacramento Business Journal. For 10 years he wrote the popular “Sacramentions” column for Sacramento Magazine and for 15 years the “Working Lunch” column for Comstock’s Business Magazine. He was also a weekly humor commentator on Capital Public Radio for more than seven years.
An in-demand public speaker, he has also taught journalism, writing and public relations courses, as an adjunct professor or lecturer, for five California universities and colleges.
In 1982, he formed his consulting firm, Goldman Communications, Inc., which was been listed in the Business Journal’s Top 25 list
